SIAMESE MAUSER CUSTOM 4570
The Siamese Mauser was designed for big rimmed cases, and a properly converted one will handle .45-70 loads as slickly as a 98 will handle 8x57. Not to throw off on Marlins, 'cause I love 'em, but an 1895 can't hold a candle to a good Mauser in the reliability arena.

#2 · Jan 22, 2021 (Edited) Anyone have any history on a possible "who done it"? This is a Siamese Mauser chambered in 45-70, military configuration, stock original to receiver. All parts look original with the exception of the magazine feeder. Need to get a pic of that posted. Condition of barrel is excellent.

Siamese Mauser 45-70 issues. After about three years of searching, I found a Siamese Mauser converted to 45-70. Shoots like a dream at 100 yards with my reloads (jacketed bullets). Problem is, the chamber is a little oversized and it bulges my brass. Does Starline the worse.

Of the cartridges mentioned for use in the Siamese, the 45-70, 7.62mm Russian, and the .348 Winchester get his nod for the best suited for this conversion. tom.

Navy Arms Siamese Mauser 45-70 Description: This is a Navy Arms conversion of a Siamese Mauser in 45-70. The rifle is used and has some scratches and dings in the stock and a few spots on the bbl. It does appear to be in otherwise very good condition, the bore looks new. I do not know the twist rate of the rifling.

3 into one oblong hole at 100, so I adjusted the scope for a 150 yard zero and fired 5. I adjusted 2 clicks down and proceeded to shoot out to 300 yards with hold overs. Siamese Mauser in 45-70. At my gun shop today, I picked up my Remington 722 in 257 Roberts and on the rack was this custom sporterized mauser. Custom built walnut stock, with a red type nose and matching pummel. White line detail, silhouette type. With a heavy profile barrel in 45-70. I have a weakness for sporterized mousers that are done right.

#2 · Oct 9, 2014 BB, The 8mm Mauser cartridge was originally in .318 bore. The Germans changed it before WW1 TO THE .323 bore. US loadings are very mild and low pressure in case someone loads a .323 8mm Mauser cartridge into a .318 bore rifle. The 7mm Mauser was always .284 bore from inception.

In 1923, Siam also followed the lead of other countries by adopting the Type 66 cartridge (BE 2466).

May 19, 2019 #1 I recently had a Siamese Mauser converted to 45-70 and it is a blast to shoot, but it is pretty much a single shot rifle. when loading the cartridges they don't want to stay in the magazine! I suspect that the follower is the problem, but not sure how to resolve that issue.

Here's a good one for the brain trust! I just got handed this gorgeous Siamese Mauser chambered in "45-70 Super Nitro". Contracted out from Germany's 98K design; the king of Siam contracted with Japan to make 40K of these rifles between 1903 and 1908. During production the Japanese arsenal added their own influence to the 98k design.
